The Tuck Mall Residence Hall is comprised of two Halls, which add 162 beds to the campus total:

  • Fahey (64 beds): 13 singles, 23 doubles, 1 5-person suite, community director apartment, cluster admin office, 3 studies, 1 lounge
  • McLane (98 beds): 11 singles, 32 doubles, 1 triple, 4 5-person suites, 5 studies, 1 meeting room.

Designed and built according to sustainable principles and with the goal of receiving U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification, the Tuck Mall Residence Halls feature:

  • High-performance envelope (superior insulation, doors, and windows)
  • In-slab radiant heating and cooling
  • Heat recovery from bathroom wastewater and an enthalpy wheel
  • Ground-source heat pump
  • Energy-efficient lighting and motor
  • Room furnishings made from wood harvested from College property
  • Fully commissioned systems

The Commons space will serve not only Fahey and McLane Halls, but also Butterfield and Russell Sage Halls, bringing all four Halls together. This space will be scheduled by the Office of Residential Life on a first-come, first-served basis, and is open to the entire campus, allowing the entire Dartmouth community to utilize the new space.
