The renovation program for New Hampshire Hall is comprised of the following elements:

  • Decompress over-crowded rooms
  • Provide increased lounge, study and kitchen spaces for the students
  • Reconfigure student bedrooms to maximize efficiency
  • Install sprinkler system
  • Provide two enclosed egress stairs for fire safety
  • Improve accessibility compliance including front and rear entrances, elevator, accessible sleeping rooms, bathrooms and fire alarm equipment
  • Perform asbestos abatement
  • Upgrade bathrooms to replace aging plumbing while improving fixture count and student privacy
  • Replace all windows with energy efficient replacement sash
  • Upgrade electrical service and distribution
  • Provide new heat distribution
  • Upgrade building envelope, including insulation of exterior masonry walls
  • Perform general maintenance upgrades including carpet, doors and hardware, plaster repairs, interior and exterior painting, exterior brick repair and furniture replacement
