Construction Summary, Spring and Summer 2007 (March - July)
Work began on the renovation of the Montgomery House in early March with demolition and abatement work that extended into April, along with other site and structural preparations.
May brought the beginning of the construction effort, including the start of interior framing for the redesigned spaces, electrical and plumbing rough-in, setting of the new exterior propane tank, removal of the stone on the patio, replacement of the street-to-house water line, and the start of the demolition and rebuilding of the three chimneys.
In June, work continued on the plumbing and electrical rough-in, resulting in the completion and inspection of the second floor portions of both jobs by the end of the month. The rear chimney was completed, and work on the other two was ongoing. New front stairs to Rope Ferry Road were installed, the kitchen framing was completed, and the installation of air conditioning began.
Rough plumbing and electrical work continued in July, along with the air conditioning installation. Foam insulation, sheetrock, and plaster were installed on the second floor.
