Project at a Glance
A community meeting will be held on Monday, October 6th at 7pm in room B03 in the Rockefeller Center. Refreshments will be served.
The new Class of 1978 Life Sciences Center will be built on the site currently occupied by Strasenburgh, Butler, the MML, and the parking area around Strasenburgh. The plaza area will be retained with the removal of the MML, the bus turnout will remain, but the parking will be relocated.
The building will be designed in accordance with Dartmouth's commitment to biology-based research, which means that the supporting systems will not need to accommodate the demands of other research sciences. The general program includes:
- 30 wet labs with associated support spaces
- 30 faculty offices
- 15 visiting faculty offices
- 6 post-doc offices
- Three conference rooms and lounges
- One 200-seat theatre classroom
- 2 80-seat amphitheatre classrooms
- 2 30-seat flexible classrooms
- 6 teaching labs
