The primary objective is to provide highly efficient storage for a percentage of the Hood Museum collection. Programmatic components include:

  • High density storage system suitable for two- and three-dimensional art
  • Open work space configured to allow viewing of objects by scholars or students
  • Loading dock with crating/un-crating area
  • Mechanical and toilet facilities

The objects being stored in this facility require the following:

  • Temperature and humidity control to museum standards
  • Partial redundancy of mechanical equipment in the event of system failure
  • Security control with video capture
