Colin Smith from Resource Systems Group and the co-chair of the Lebanon Master Plan Transportation subcommittee sent around this very interesting article from yesterday’s NYT about an (almost) car free
residential development in Germany.  How about trying a similar experiment here in the Upper Valley?

Sharrows coming soon to Hanover

Sharrows are coming soon to Lebanon Street in Hanover.  A number of shared lane arrows will be painted on the street in front of Hanover High School to more clearly define the bicycle route.  How cool is that.  More information will follow.   

Boston Plans to Share Bikes

College Campuses Affordable Travel Destinations

The travel section of last weekend’s NY Times promotes the campus as an affordable, interesting travel destination.  It’s true that college/universities offer many of the great features of small towns.  I like the guy who visited his 500th campus last fall.  He’s been “bagging” campus cafeterias since the 1980s.  It’s not quite the same as “bagging the 4,000 footers” in the Whites but obviously he enjoys it.
