Value of a spider web - Free Energy Audits in NH

National Grid has contracted with Conservation Services Group to provide free energy audits to their customers.  I scheduled the audit in mid-June and CSG conducted their on-site survey yesterday.  Nat, the CRS professional, arrived as planned at 11:30 am and left us after replacing most of our incandescents with CFLs about 1 pm.  He also left a print out of recommendations, approximate costs and pay back period.  The walk-through was very informative.  In addition to learning that we have no insulation in our walls, I was told that the spider webs in the corners of the basement helped identify leaks in our insulation (apparently spiders prefer locating their homes in the path of the breeze - also the flight path of meal-time bugs).  Now to find someone to help with insulation…
