— Community Letter (January 2009) —

Dear Greeks,

The Order of Omega and the Greek Leadership Council are pleased to announce important changes in the structure of the 2009 Order of Omega Awards. After collecting and reviewing your feedback, we have decided to tailor this process to the needs of individual organizations and councils.

• We have eliminated the formal application process used in previous years.

• We have broadened award categories so that they reward any outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations.

• We have asked individual councils to devise a nomination and application process that best serves the needs of that particular council.

• We have expanded the application material to include any medium that best represents the nomination (e.g. photographs, outlines, videos, essays, multimedia presentations, etc.).

• We have created a Steering Committee including seven of your peers and two administrators. These voting members will receive, review, and evaluate nominations from five non-voting members who represent your respective councils.

Our hope is that these changes will create a process that is more easy, equitable, and enjoyable for your organization. Please take advantage of this opportunity to recognize outstanding achievement within our community. Don't hesitate to contact us with questions, concerns, and feedback.
