Survey Coordination

OIR provides institution-wide survey coordination.   Proposals for surveys targeting the members of the Dartmouth community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni) should be sent to Alicia.M.Betsinger@Dartmouth.edu in the Office of Institutional Research for review, schedule coordination, and approval.  Please use the Survey Proposal Form.

Surveys must also be approved by the office of the appropriate dean or vice president of the relevant Dartmouth population prior to administration.   Contacts for the various areas are below:

  • Undergraduate students:  Dean of the College
  • Arts and Sciences Graduate students:  Dean of Faculty or Dean of Graduate Studies
  • Professional school students:  Dean of the respective school
  • Faculty:  Provost
  • Staff: Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration
  • Alumni:  Vice President for Alumni Relations

If surveys involve human subject participation, the researcher must check with and, if appropriate, obtain approval of the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~cphs).
