Quantum Field Theory and Theoretical Cosmology. In particular my focus is on non-linear effects in quantum field theories in a cosmological context.
Primarily, I study the emergence and properties of oscillons, long-lived, localized, oscillatory solutions to the equations of motion of non-linear field theories. Even though oscillons emerge in a wide range of theories, my interest relies on their potential significance to cosmology, especially in inflationary/reheating scenarios.
Due to the complexity of the underlying theories, most of my work is based on numerical simulations which require a tremendous amount of processing power. My programs are intended to run in a parallel environment so as to diminish the required running time.
