I was born in Kranj, Slovenia in 1971, and grew up in Solkan, where I attended the local grade school. I attended high school in Nova Gorica. Slovenia is a great place for skiing and hiking. This is one of my favorite hikes there. I came to the US as an exchange student in Virginia, MN. I then studied at Yale and got my Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton. I now work at Dartmouth College.

I am married to Eric Edmonds. We are very proud parents to Ella and Mia.
