We have a 7T horizontal bore magnet. The bore is 20cm and the clear bore with gradients etc. is 12cm. We have 230mT/m actively shielded gradients with a rated rise time of 150microseconds.

The operating current for this superconducting magnet is 186 amps. Being a superconductor, this current will remain in the magnet as long as we keep the wires below the temperature of liquid helium (4K, or -269 centigrade). The gradients are powered by 3 1KW TECHRON amplifiers.
