Benediction
God bless you, Jim Yong Kim.
As your voice cries out in this wilderness, may we heed it and find a new inspiration.
May God give you the boldness of Eleazar Wheelock, the wisdom of William Jewett Tucker, the diplomacy of John Sloan Dickey, the determination of John Kemeny, and the decency of Jim Wright.
May your voice summon ours, and may our voices ring from the mighty mountains of New Hampshire to the mole hills of Mississippi, from Hanover to Haiti and Hong Kong and Honduras, from the White River to the White House, proclaiming good news to the poor, release to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind.
May God bless you, and bless us all. May God save us from the perils of cynicism, self-congratulation, and naiveté, and yet help us to believe, again, that what happens in this clearing in the wilderness can make the whole world a better place.
Amen.
