The adventures of independent field research

Dartmouth offers many ways for students to take their classroom knowledge out into the field. For example, Owen Zidar '08 recently went to the Philippines to survey local participants of microcredit programs, and Tim Bolger '10 trekked through Alaska last summer on an ancient wood-finding mission. Both of these trips were supported by a Paul K. Richter and Evalyn E. Cook Richter Memorial Fund Research Grant.
