Three Dartmouth undergraduates have been named to the U.S. teams competing at the Junior World Championships and the 2006 Under-23 Cross Country World Championships, both held in Slovenia later this month.
Freshman Glenn Randall (Collbran, CO) will ski at the Junior Worlds, one of seven men named to the U.S. team. Randall posted a 13th place finish in the 30-kilometer freestyle event and an 11th in the 15-kilometer freestyle at this month's U.S. Cross Country Championships.
Dartmouth senior Alison Crocker (Poughkeepsie, NY) and junior Mike Sinnott (Sun Valley, ID) will represent the U.S. at the U-23s, a transitional bridge for skiers between the junior ranks and entering the World Cup on a regular basis. An All America selection last season, Crocker's results this season include an 18th place finish in the sprint race and an 18th in the 10-kilometer classical event at this month's U.S. Championships. Sinnott competed at the 2005 Junior World Championships; he was 14th in the 30-kilometer classical and 16th in the 15-kilometer freestyle at the Nationals.
All three athletes have departed for Slovenia; racing at both the Junior Worlds and U-23s begins on Jan. 31.
