The Dartmouth College Gospel Choir will be on tour in the Chicago area from Dec. 28 - 30 for a series of performances and public service. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Walter Cunningham Jr., the Dartmouth Gospel Choir sings a wide variety of gospel music ranging from spirituals to modern day contemporary hits.

The choir, comprised of Dartmouth students from all walks of life and a wide array of academic disciplines, will be performing at the following venues:

  • December 28th Community Covenant Church (12446 S. Loomis, Calumet Park)
    7 p.m. - Public performance
  • December 29th Unity in Chicago (1925 W. Thome Avenue, Chicago)
    7:00 pm - Public performance
  • December 30th St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (2919 19th St., Rockford)

The student-led initiative aims to share their love of music and illustrate the opportunities available at Dartmouth College to local students from the Calumet Park area.

Says Cunningham, "This tour allows us to promote Dartmouth and share our message of faith, love and inspiration through music. It's also an opportunity to show people that Dartmouth, in addition to being one of the nation's foremost institutions of learning, has a diverse campus, represented by people of many racial and cultural backgrounds. Plus, we get to perform, interact with Chicagoland residents both in minority and majority populations, and participate in local community service efforts."
