Dartmouth College Convocation speeches, 2002

Dartmouth marked the opening of its 233rd year with Convocation ceremonies Tuesday, Sept. 24. Dartmouth President James Wright addressed the more than 1,000 students, faculty and staff gathered at the event. Author and journalist David Shipler, a 1964 graduate and member of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees, delivered remarks along with Student Body President Janos Marton '04.

Dartmouth's fall term classes begin at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
