Holiday gala to celebrate native art and season of community

The Hood Museum of Art will host a holiday gala on Wednesday, Dec. 12, to celebrate the season and the spirit of community.

The gala highlights two exhibitions, Reservation X: The Power of Place and Art/Survival/History: American Indian Collections from the Hood Museum of Art.

The Christmas Revels will performm welcoming music at 5:30, and Vera B. Palmer, Visiting Instructor in Native American Studies, will tell stories of the season from 6 to 7:30, along with songs by Dartmouth's Native Women's Song Circle.

The event is free and open to the public, and is hosted by the Friends of the Hopkins Center and Hood Museum of Art.

The Hood Museum of Art will be closed for the holidays beginning Monday, Dec. 24, and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Please visit our website for information about exhibitions, the latest news at the museum, public programs, and to search the collection. For more information call 646-2808.
