McCulloch Hall among "Best Built" in its category in NH, VT

Posted 11/10/00

McCULLOCH HALL, Dartmouth's newest undergraduate residence hall, was recently recognized as one of the best-constructed new institutional facilities in New Hampshire and Vermont by the New Hampshire/Vermont Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. (ABC).

North Branch Construction, Inc. of Henniker, N.H., won one of the group's annual Excellence in Construction awards for its work on McCulloch Hall, for which North Branch served as the construction management firm. The award winners were determined by an independent panel of judges who evaluated the projects on the basis of execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, safety and other considerations.

McCulloch Hall, which opened this fall, houses 80 Dartmouth undergraduates on the east side of campus. The facility is named for Norman E. (Sandy) McCulloch, a 1950 graduate of Dartmouth and a former Chair of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees; and his wife Dorothy. Kenneth F. Holmes, a 1981 graduate of Dartmouth and a 1985 graduate of Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, is Vice President and General Manager of North Branch Construction, and was the Project Manager for McCulloch Hall.

Dartmouth has television (satellite uplink) and radio (ISDN) studios available for domestic and international live and taped interviews. For more information, call 603-646-3661 or see our Radio, Television capability webpage.
