Since hostilities have commenced, Rollins Chapel will be open continually for prayer. A gathering of concerned persons will occur at 4:30 PM each day, for prayer and support. Candles will be available for lighting. A resource book of prayers from various traditions will be made available.
Campus Ministers and student volunteers will be notified and asked to sign up for particular time slots, when they may choose simply to lead the vigil or to offer other forms of prayer.
Students will be notified that the chapel is open, and they also will be told that all campus ministers are available for consultation.
The Tucker Foundation will take responsibility for being a clearing house, helping students locate appropriate religious counselors.
In addition, the following statement has been unanimously adapted by the United Campus Ministries of Dartmouth College:
"The Tucker Foundation and the United Campus Ministers of Dartmouth College acknowledge that our nation is involved in a military and moral crisis that will almost certainly lead to the loss of life.
In this crisis, we affirm that all life is equally precious to God.
We affirm our duty to work and to pray for peace and justice.
We acknowledge that we bear special responsibility and concern for those who represent us, as they risk both killing and dying in our name.
We pray for all who are in authority and who are making very difficult decisions: in our nation, in other nations, and at the United Nations.
Although we may be divided about political issues, we are united in our concern for peace and justice, and in acknowledging our need for God's grace and guidance."
