A former special assistant in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, Mastanduno directed Dartmouth's John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding for six years. He has received fellowships from the Brookings Institution, the Council of Foreign Relations, the East-West Center and the Salzburg Seminar. In addition, Mastanduno is author or editor of Economic Containment, Unipolar Politics, International Relations Theory and the Asia Pacific and U.S. Hegemony and International Organizations, among others.
