Kenneth R. French is the Carl E. and Catherine M. Heidt Professor of Finance at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College. He is the author of numerous articles appearing in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Business, and other journals. Frenchs recent research focuses on empirical estimates of the cross-section of expected stock returns, the cost of capital, dividend policy, and capital structure. He received his BS from Lehigh University (1975); his MBA from University of Rochester (1978); his MS from the University of Rochester (1981) and his PhD from the University of Rochester (1983). He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, an Advisory Editor of the Journal of Financial Economics, a former associate editor of the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Finance, and a former director of the Center for Research in Security Prices.
