Bio:

Buckey is an expert in the area of space physiology and medicine. His research interests include: decompression sickness, motion sickness, psychological adaptation to isolation and confinement, hearing assessment in noisy environments and calcium loss in space. In April 1998, he flew aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia on a mission devoted to studying how the human nervous system adapts to the absence of gravity. Buckey co-edited the book with the results from this 16-day biomedical research trip into space, called Neurolab Spacelab Mission: Neuroscience Research in Space, Results From the STS-90. The book includes technical reports on procedures and equipment developed for the flight and perspectives of the crewmembers of this mission.
