First Voices

First Voices, the first undergraduate student publication with a focus on Indigenous issues and perspectives, began in the Winter of 2008. First Voices presents varied perspectives on issues pertaining to Native American life today through the media of creative writing, photography, scholarly articles, poetry, art, and other forms of expression. Through these representations, we hope to facilitate a better sense of understanding between Native students and other members of campus. First Voices also aims to assist Dartmouth College as it redefines its educational mission in the 21st century. We hope this can be accomplished by broadening the spectrum of issues brought to the campus' attention, issues that, although Indigenous in origin, are inclusive of many viewpoints and opinions.
