Christian Native Americans at Dartmouth

Christian Native Americans at Dartmouth (CNAD)  is a group of Native students who come together to share faith experiences, concerns or questions. Our diverse backgrounds and beliefs enhance our discussions, as we get to know one another, the Bible, and Jesus in an informal, comfortable environment. We recognize the mistreatment many of our Native Nations have experienced under the auspices of "Christianity;" however, we see that these hurtful acts were and are carried out by a human misuse of God's word and a misrepresentation of who God is. Today, many of us seek to reconcile the truth of the Bible and the reality of Jesus in a personal way. Therefore, the purpose of our group is to provide a supportive space for Native students to connect on issues regarding faith and explore what loving God means for our daily lives in practical terms. Many of us also seek to strengthen our personal connection to our Native identities and cultures and further understand them as gifts from God and expressions of worship. All walks of faith and spiritual backgrounds are welcome.
