The Joke Quartet
In 1781, Haydn wrote "The Joke Quartet" (op. 33 no. 2). There is a return to the theme several times (perhaps a modified rondo form). There is a very quirky ending. Haydn wrote lots of quartets in E flat major. There is a prominence of the violin in this work.
