This year, Dartmouth College and the Franklin Pierce Law Center's Social Justice Institute will be hosting the first annual Mock Trial Youth Conference on Sunday, November 9, 2003.

Organized and staffed by members of Dartmouth's mock trial team, the Mock Trial Youth Conference aims to educate students about the fundamentals of mock trial to enrich both their own experience and the experience of others in the New Hampshire mock trial competition.

The conference is capped at 100 students, who will be divided into four groups of 25 once they arrive at the conference. The groups will rotate through four workshops - cross-examination, direct-examination, evidence, and speeches/witness portrayal.

Each workshop will be co-taught by a pair of Dartmouth students, and we will try to teach all workshops from the perspective of both attorneys and witnesses.

The event will be held at Dartmouth College in the Nelson D. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy. The event is completely non-profit, but to cover the cost of food (breakfast and lunch) which we will be providing, there is a $5 fee per student attending.

The ten instructors who will be teaching the workshops bring more than 50 years of mock trial experience to the table. Having participated in some of the best high school programs in the country, these Dartmouth students have gone on to make Dartmouth one of the top programs in the country.

The conference will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the first workshop starting at 11 a.m. To see a detailed schedule, please visit the "Schedule of Events" portion of this website. If you have any other questions, please email us at Mock.Trial@Dartmouth.edu.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope to see you at the conference!
