This year was a great year for Dartmouth Mock Trial!

We fielded four teams at the U Penn Invitational in November. All new members joined some veterans to try The State of Midlands vs. Tyler Perry, a criminal kidnapping case. That tournament gave the new members a chance to learn the ropes of mock trial, the facts of the case, and the Rules of Evidence. At that tournament, one team, led by Kristin Janssen '06 and Sean Macrae '08 finished in 3rd place, and awards were presented to Carlos Mejia '08 and Bill Lundin '09. Additionally, Greg Boguslavsky '09 received Honorable Mention for his outstanding performance as a witness.

At the end of fall term, we reshuffled teams to compete at Regionals. Again, we fielded four teams, sending two to the Regional Competition in Princeton, NJ and two to Bristol, RI. One team, led by co-captains Michael Ellis '06 ad Stacy Kourlis '06, took first place at the Bristol Tournament after a tough fourth round against Holy Cross. And other Bristol team missed an Honorable Mention by just a few points. At Princeton, our teams faced both of the eventual winners of the tournament early on and narrowly missed a bid to Florida. At Regionals, Cordelia Zukerman, Will Dekrey, and Stacy Kourlis received awards.

Our A team went onto the National Tournament in Iowa. After a grueling four rounds against NYU, Penn, Minnesota, and Penn State, they tied for 10th place.

This year was a very successful one, consistent with previous years' regional and national successes. We look forward to another great year starting in the fall.
