DMC Spring Break Trips

Each year the DMC picks itself off of its collective ass and takes a plane ride across the country. Two weeks of mad climbing ensues and then everyone makes it back to campus a little more relaxed than before. Below are some of the trip reports.

Spring Break 2008: (more) Red Rocks
Spring Break 2008: (even more) Red Rocks

Competitions

Here you will find the results of previous climbing comps held at Dartmouth and around the northeast. Indoor comps tend to be held in the winter. Dartmouth, in recent years, has held two comps in the winter. One that is for Dartmouth students only and a second that is intercollegiate.

Rumney

Rumney has seen some of the most amazing developments in the last year or so. All sorts of 13's and 14's have gone up all around the area. New crags have been cleaned providing some of the longest sport routes in the northeast. So if you've got new beta or were just on a climb no-one has ever heard of before, write up a quick report and send it in.

Gunks

No place in the world offers the concentration of fantastic trad routes as the Gunks. There has to be like 300 routes within a 20 minute hike of the Uberfall and two other crags nearby. The DMC takes trips to the Gunks about 4 times a year.

Cannon

Cannon cliff is home to some of the tallest, sweetest trad that makes a reasonable day or even afternoon trip from Dartmouth. With famous routes like the super exposed Whitney-Gilman Ridge (still only a 5.7), nine pitches of Moby Grape (Reppy's Crack), and the legendary Black Dike ice route, Cannon will knock your socks off like no day at Rumney will and still have you back in time for Action Movie Night.
