Dean Rusk

November 1983

As U.S. Secretary of State, Dean Rusk helped to shape U.S. foreign policy, advocating involvement in both the Korean and the Vietnam wars. Prior to becoming Secretary of State Rusk had an extensive diplomatic career and served as president of the Rockefeller Foundation. After leaving government, Rusk, a former Rhodes scholar, also taught at the University of Georgia Law School.
