Robert Caro's first book, The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York, won the Pulitzer Prize in biography and the Francis Parkman Prize. Both the first and second volumes of his The Years of Lyndon Johnson received the National Book Critics Circle Award. Mr. Caro, a former Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, began his career as an investigative reporter, working six years for Newsday. Mr. Caro served as President of the Authors Guild of America and Vice President of PEN.
