Elise M. Boulding is a Sociologist, women's rights and peace activist. She was Secretary General of the International Peace Research Association from 1989-91, International Chairperson of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, 1967-70, and she received the Disarmament, Peace and Democracy Award in 1990. Her books include The Underside of History: A View of Women Through Time, Chilfdren's Rights and the Wheel of Life, and One Small Plot of Heaven. She is Professor of Sociology Emerita at Dartmouth College.
