Dear Faculty Advisors and Delegates:

It is is my honor to announce that the eight edition of the Dartmouth Model United Nations high school conference will be taking place next spring from April 5th through April 7th, 2013 in our humble hometown of Hanover, New Hampshire.

This spring, DartMUN will provide over 500 high-school students with an invaluable Model U.N. experience that will push them to be their best while providing a safe, supportive learning environment. An unparalleled experience, DartMUN provides high school students the opportunity to negotiate the pertinent political, economical and cultural issues of our time while promoting collaboration  amongst peers.

In much the same manner as the College that we have grown to know and love, DartMUN values a close-knit, focused learning environment. These values can be seen in DartMUN’s focus on active, small committees that are focused on very specific topics that ensures all delegates are involved and cover topics both broadly and deeply. Paired with a staff full of Dartmouth campus leaders, DartMUN strives to create an environment where students are encouraged to step up, think outside the box and find innovative solutions.

As with year’s past, DartMUN VIII will continue its focus on giving back to the greater global community by engaging in a conference-wide philanthropic effort to  support the citizens of the world. In addition to the stable conferences of DartMUN like the General Assemblies and Specialized Committees, DartMUN VIII will be the first time that Dartmouth Model U.N. will be running two completely independent crisis simulations. The doubling of our renowned flexible crisis simulation will hopefully provide more experienced delegates with an all-new challenge and force both staff members and participants to stay on their feet.

Registration for DartMUN VIII is currently open and all the necessary instructions can be found under the Registration tab of our website.

On behalf of the entire DartMUN staff, I welcome you to DartMUN VIII. I cannot wait to see all of you this spring and have the opportunity to sit in on the worthwhile conversations and creative solutions thatdelegates have year after year.

Best Wishes,

Sid Sathe

Secretary-General
