Rabbi Arik Ascherman was the executive director of Rabbis for Human Rights for fifteen years. Located in Israel, Rabbis for Human Rights (http://rhr.org.il/eng/index.php/about/) an organization that works to defend the human rights of marginalized communities within Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Rabbi Ascherman currently develops special projects for the organization. He was the co-recipient of both the Gandhi Peace Award in 2010 and, in 2009, the Leibowitz Prize, awarded by the Israeli human rights group Yesh Din.
