Milton Photos 2004

Please use these pictures in anyway you see fit; I intended them both for teaching and amusement. There are two pages to this album, so please don't miss page 2.

The Wren Library at Trinity was not, of course, completed during Milton's lifetime, but I include it because the famous manuscript of some of Milton's early poems (along with notes of ideas for tragedies and epics, and a letter) is on display there.

Many of the London photos have a weird anachronistic feel. Most of the City of London was destroyed by the great fire of 1666, and even more, including the ancient walls and gates, were destroyed subsequently, especially by the bombing of London during WW2.
