As a freshman, he appeared in 11 games, collecting two points (1g, 1a). Mahler potted his first collegiate goal in the Big Green's 6-2 victory against Bowling Green (12/28) at the Sheraton/USAirways Classic at Vermont. His assist came in a 6-5 overtime loss at Brown.

High School/Juniors: Mahler skated at Taft School prior to Dartmouth where he scored 22 points (6g, 16a) in 19 games as a senior. He missed six games of the season due to knee surgery.

Personal: Mahler lists UVM's Gutterson Fieldhouse as his favorite ECAC rink because "it is a big rink that adheres to my style of play. I also scored my first goal there."
