High School/Juniors: Byrne enters his freshman year with Dartmouth fresh off his NHL selection to the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round (143rd overall). He becomes the first Big Green player drafted since Scott Fraser '94 was taken by the Montreal Canadiens in 1991. Byrne is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and was named co-New England Prep School Player of the Year. He collected 28 points (9g, 19a) with Deerfield and was All-New England. Byrne also participated in Hockey Night In Boston and was the Massachusetts Defensive Player of the Year along with most valuable player and All-Scholastic. He is a very intelligent player who plays the game aggressively and has good mobility.

Personal: Trevor is the son of Chris and Patty Byrne and is the younger brother of Big Green forward, Michael. Trevor names Friends as his favorite television show and the Backstreet Boys as his favorite musical group. He started playing hockey when he was three years old and names the Dallas Stars' captain Derien Hatcher as his favorite NHL player.
