| At Dartmouth: Almon enters his final season with the Big Green as one of the top netminders in school history. As a junior, he posted a 3.58 goals against average in a career-high 27 games. He now has a 3.42 career goals against average, placing him 11th all-time in the Dartmouth record books. As a junior, Almon posted a three-game winning streak (2/12-2/19) against Colgate, Cornell and Union, stopping 71 of the 77 shots he faced in those contests. Almon was later named ECAC/Bauer Co-Player of the Week (1/11) for his efforts against Princeton and Yale. In those two games, he stopped 60 of 64 shots as the Big Green upset the Tigers, 4-2, and tied the Bulldogs, 2-2. As a sophomore, Almon appeared in 16 games, posting a team-low 2.84 goals against average and a 7-6-3 record. Almon recorded two shutouts, the first a 4-0 win at Union (11/8) and the second a 0-0 tie at UMass-Amherst. In the Sheraton/USAirways Classic at Vermont, Almon was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player for his back-to-back victories against Bowling Green (6-2) and Providence (4-1). Almon was twice named ECAC/Heaton Goaltender of the Week. In his freshman season, he collected a team-high 325 saves. Almon recorded his first collegiate victory in his Big Green debut, making 42 saves in a 5-2 win at Merrimack (12/21). He was given ECAC/Bauer Rookie of the Week honors.
High School/Juniors: Almon backstopped Belmont Hill to tournament victories at Lawrenceville in 1995 and Nichols in 1994. He recorded a 15-5-4 record with a 1.83 goals against average his senior year. He was named the Boston Prep's Outstanding Goalie and earned All-Independent School League honors in 1996.
