HANOVER, N.H. -- Senior forward Ben Maidment scored the game-winning goal and assisted on three others to pace Clarkson to a 6-1 victory over Dartmouth in ECAC hockey action Saturday night. Maidment's power play goal broke a 1-1 tie with 4:41 left in the second period and set off a string of four unanswered Clarkson goals. Dartmouth (6-10-1 overall, 2-7-1 ECAC) broke through in the first period on a Frank Nardella goal with 24 seconds left. But the Golden Knights (9-9-1 overall, 6-3 ECAC) tied it with 3:05 gone in the second on Don Smith's first goal of the night. After Maidment broke the tie, Smith scored his second with 38 seconds left, giving Clarkson a 3-1 advantage after two periods. Ian Manzano, Yan Turgeon and Philippe Roy all scored in the third period. In the nets, Shawn Grant made 29 saves for Clarkson while Dartmouth's Eric Almon stopped 28 shots. For Clarkson, Manzano had a two-point night, adding an assist to his goal, while Kent Huskins had a pair of assists.
