| At Dartmouth: Along with Ryan Chaytors, Wilgosh is an assistant captain for the 1998-99 season. He exploded on the scene after posting back-to-back 11-point campaigns during his freshman and sophomore seasons (6g, 5a). Last year, Wilgosh finished tied for second on the team in scoring with a career-high 26 points (6g, 20a) and was second on the team with a career-high 20 assists. Wilgosh tied for the team lead in ECAC scoring with 22 points (5g, 17a) and was third in Ivy League scoring with nine points (3g, 6a). His efforts were noticed by the coaching staff as he was named the John Manser Award winner for the most improved varsity player. Wilgosh continued his habit of starting the season on a roll, collecting a goal and two assists in the opening weekend of play. Wilgosh scored at least one point in six straight games (2/13-2/28) that included one goal and 10 assists. He posted a career high when he assisted on three Big Green goals in a 6-1 victory at Vermont (1/31). He finished the season with seven multiple point games, two multiple goal games and four multiple assist games. Wilgosh opened his sophomore campaign with a three-game point scoring streak (11/1-11/9), netting two goals and two assists. He scored a game-high two goals in a 4-4 tie against Princeton (2/21). After leading all Big Green freshmen in scoring in 1995-96, he earned the Booma Award as the team's top rookie. On his first shift as a collegian, he scored his first goal in a 8-6 loss at Illinois-Chicago (11/4). He recorded his first game winning goal in a 3-1 victory against Rensselaer (2/16).
High School/Juniors: Wilgosh played his junior hockey for the Minot Americans and Minot Top Guns. In his first year, he led his team in scoring with 69 points in 68 games and was the most valuable player. As the captain the next year, he led the squad in goals scored. Wilgosh represented Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Jr. B Championships in 1993 and won a silver medal. Personal: Curtis says his favorite aspect of Dartmouth "is the location and beauty of the campus. The small-town atmosphere is very similar to where I grew up." Curtis likes to relax by listening to music and has no one preference, enjoying all kinds of music. He is a fan of David Letterman and The Late Show, and thinks that the hardest ECAC rink to play in is St. Lawrence's Appleton Arena because of the unpredictability of the boards. |
