He also chipped in offensively with an assist at St. Lawrence (12/31). He appeared in just two games in his rookie campaign, largely due to the fact he suffered a broken leg.
High School/Juniors: Burkart played his junior hockey for the Wexford Raiders of the Metro Jr. A League and was a member of four straight Metro Toronto Championship teams. In 1991, he was also a member of the Ontario Provincial Championship. In 1994, Burkart was named a first team All-Star. He also picked up a varsity letter at Loyola Catholic Secondary School prior to joining Wexford.
Personal: Ryan looks forward to the physical play that can be counted on in each hockey contest. In the off-season, Ryan enjoys teeing it up on the golf course, and he lists his favorite movie as Slapshot. His father, Michael, played hockey at the University of New Hampshire in the early 1970s. |
