At Dartmouth: One of the Big Green's most promising defenseman, Poulton finished his freshman year with 14 points (2g, 12a). Poulton scored his first collegiate goal, which was also the game winner, at Merrimack (12/21). His best offensive game of the season came against Rensselaer (11/9), when he recorded three assists. Poulton finished the season with three multiple point games.

High School: A member of the Wexford Raiders in the Metro Junior A League, Poulton was named captain to the East Division All-Star team in 1995-96. In the year prior, Poulton won the Bauer Division Championship with Wexford. He started the season with the St. Michaels Buzzers. He finished the 1994-95 season with a combined 47 points (13g, 34a) in 52 games.

Personal: Ryan's favorite pro hockey team is his hometown Maple Leafs. He enjoys playing at Dartmouth's Thompson arena the most because "it's exciting to play in front of the team's fans and friends especially during a soldout game." Ryan says the most memorable part of his freshman season was scoring his first goal because he knew his parents were listening on the radio back home. Ryan is an avid sports fan much like his two brothers, and says he is always up for a round of golf.
