At Dartmouth: With his large frame, Hafer will be used to set up in front
of opposing goals to create havoc. Seeing his first collegiate
action last season, Hafer appeared in 12 games. He netted his
first goal at Princeton (1/11), and added an assist later in the
season against Princeton (2/21).
High School: Hafer earned eight letters at Haverford Township High School,
competing in both hockey and tennis for four years. He was the
number one tennis player for three years and was named the EHSHL
1994 Player of the Year. Hafer played with the Philadelphia Junior
Flyers from 1992-1994, helping his team to a third-place finish
at the 1994 National Championships.
Personal: Zach lists his hometown Philadelphia Flyers as his favorite
NHL team and the Flyers' John LeClair as his favorite player.
Zach enjoys any Italian food while reading F. Scott Fitzgerald's
The Great Gatsby. He also lists The Shawshank Redemption as his
favorite movie. Cornell's Lynah Arena is Zach's favorite rink
because "of the electricity of the crowd." Beating Vermont last
year, 4-1, in Zach's first game at Thompson Arena would qualify
as his finest college hockey moment. |
