At Dartmouth: Chaytors enters his junior season as a serious threat to opposing
goaltenders. After an injury-shortened freshman year, Chaytors
exploded with 16 goals and 12 assists last season, placing him
third on the Big Green scoring list. Chaytors recorded his first
collegiate hat trick against St. Lawrence (1/18). He scored two
goals and had three assists in a weekend series at Colgate and
Cornell (11/15-11/16). Chaytors also had a four game point scoring
streak (11/29-12/30) where he netted six goals and added two assists.
His freshman season was shortened due to a broken hand that was
suffered during practice. Ryan notched his first collegiate goal
in the loss to defending national champion Boston University (12/12).
High School: Chaytors played two seasons of junior hockey with the Calgary
Canucks before enrolling at Dartmouth. In both seasons he was
named to the AJHL All-Star team and in 1994-95 he captained the
Canucks to the Centennial Cup Championship.
Personal: Ryan's favorite athlete and boyhood idol is the Detroit Red
Wings' Steve Yzerman because of Yzerman's similar size. Ryan also
likes that Yzerman is a role model on and off the ice. Ryan thinks
that Vermont's Gutterson Arena is the toughest rink to play in
the ECAC because "the rink is so big and the fans are sometimes
overwhelming." |
