At Dartmouth: Buckley had a breakthrough season last year, scoring career
highs in goals with seven, assists with 14 and points with 21.
Buckley had a career-high three points (1g, 2a) against St. Lawrence
(1/18) and had his first multiple goal game of the season at Brown
(3/1), scoring twice. In his sophomore year, Buckley was one of
the team?s top penalty-killing forwards. He scored three goals
on the season, including the game winner against Yale (1/12).
As a freshman, he broke into the lineup in mid-season and finished
the year with three points in 21 games. Buckley?s first collegian
goal came in a loss against Harvard.
High School: Buckley captained the hockey and baseball teams, earning six
letters between the two. He was the conference scoring champion
in 1992-93 when he tallied 55 points and garnered two All-Conference
selections and one All-State honor. On the diamond, he won a pair
of All-Conference honors and was All-Region as well.
Personal: A fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jeremiah's favorite player
is former 'Hawk and all-star center Jeremy Roenick. He lists his
favorite aspect of the game as scoring goals and his other interests
include weight lifting, fitness and tracking investments -- something
he'd like to continue as a career. Jeremiah once had the opportunity
to play against the Dallas Stars' Mike Modano in a summer league
and was impressed by the NHLer's speed and powerful shot. Jeremiah
is considered by his teammates as the best defensive forward on
the squad.
- Jeremiah Buckley on Dartmouth
- "The search to find an institution that would provide me with
greater challenges each day in athletics and academics than I
had ever experienced before, was what initially sparked my interest
in Dartmouth. Immediately after my recruiting trip, I knew that
Dartmouth would provide me with everything that I was looking
for and so much more. Not only was I impressed by the beautiful
campus and the extraordinary tradition, but I was most impressed
by the people. The people I met at Dartmouth were all highly intelligent
and well-rounded individuals who all shared a great deal of pride
and affection for their school. Through my experience at Dartmouth
so far, I too have developed this tremendous pride in Dartmouth
and a deep affection for the coaches, professors, and fellow students
who have pushed me beyond my potential and have helped me learn
and grow."
