Jon Sturgis

Jon Sturgis

At Dartmouth: One of the most complete players on the Big Green squad, Jon scored perhaps the most important goal of the season last year as a sophomore. His game-tying goal at Yale, with just two seconds remaining, kept the Big Green in the playoff hunt. He finished the year fourth on the team in scoring, putting up seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. As a freshman, he was one of five skaters to appear in all 27 games for the team. He scored three goals and notched four assists and his first career goal came in a 5-4 win over Boston College.

High School: Jon earned four letters in hockey and five in cross country at the Blake School. An All-Conference runner four times, Jon was selected All-Conference in hockey twice and given honorable mention a third time.

Personal: Jon puts golf, waterskiing and reading among his hobbies and says his favorite movie is Caddyshack. He lists the TV show Cheers as one of his favorites, and "it's a little known fact" that Jon is a trivia buff. Jon's most memorable sports moment was the goal at Yale and the thing he likes most about hockey is the comaraderie of his teammates.
