About the coach: A 1990 graduate of the University of Maine, Guy Perron enters his second season as Dartmouth's first assistant coach. A two-time captain, he helped the Black Bears to four NCAA tournament appearances from 1987-90. He was chosen MVP of the 1987 Alaska Nissan Classic and was voted to All-Tournament teams three times in his career. The Hockey East Playmaker of the Year in 1988-89, Perron ended his collegiate career as the school's seventh all-time leading scorer with 62-84¯146.
After graduating, Perron played Division 1 hockey in Upplands Vasby, Sweden for the 1990-91 season, serving as player-coach. The top scorer in the league, he earned MVP honors as a right wing.
At Dartmouth, Perron works closely with the defenseman and goalies and is responsible for video analysis.He also conducts the Big Green's off-ice training and conditioning.
From 1992-94, Perron was head coach at Bangor (Maine) High, rebuilding that program en route to Class A Coach of the Year honors in 1993. From 1991-92, he was Maine's graduate assistant coach while pursuing his master's degree in educational administration.
Perron has extensive experience at summer camps, including the Huron Hockey Schools, Maine's Select High School Hockey Camp, the University of Maine Hockey School and the Canadien Hockey School de Jacques St. Jean in Quebec.
