Ben Heller

Ben Heller

At Dartmouth: Ben had a solid junior season between the pipes for Dartmouth, lowering his goals against average for the second straight year. He appeared in seven games and won the final game of the regular season, 3- 2, with a 26-save effort over Brown. His two other ECAC starts were one- goal defeats in which Ben displayed a quick glove and the ability to keep his team in the game. As a sophomore, Ben got off to a hot start, earning ECAC Player of the Week when he stopped a career-high 41 shots in a 3- 2 win at Colgate. His sharp play at the beginning of the 1994-95 season helped the Big Green to a 3-0-1 start. In his first collegiate start as a freshman, Ben recorded 26 saves in an 11-4 rout of Vermont at Thompson Arena.

High School: Ben lettered four years in hockey and three in lacrosse at St. Sebastian's in Needham, Mass. His senior year, he was named league MVP in hockey after leading the team to a 25-3-2 record.

Personal: In his spare time, Ben enjoys movies, reading, listening to music and watching television. His favorite food is prime rib, and his favorite sports teams are the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. Although he roots for the Bruins, Ben likes the playing style of New York Ranger forward Mark Messier. Ben says that Vermont and Cornell are the toughest places to play because of the rowdy fans.
