About the coach: A 1991 graduate of Dartmouth and a varsity and jayvee goaltender, Dan French joins the 1996-97 Big Green staff as the volunteer assistant coach. He has extensive involvement in coaching and currently holds Masters Level V certification from USA Hockey.
Last year, he was head coach for the Vermont Bantam I Select 15 All-Stars and assistant coach/goalie coach for the successful Hanover High boy's hockey team. In addition, he coached at the USA Hockey New England Select 15 Development Camp.
From 1991-96, French was involved with the Woodstock (Vermont) youth hockey program on all levels, including coaching; scheduling; editing the association newsletter; and working as rink manager. A coach at the Elite Hockey Training Centers in Hanover and North Andover, Mass. since 1988, he received the Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Award in 1994. French also has been involved in numerous coaching seminars.
French grew up in Katonah, N.Y. playing youth hockey before continuing his career at Brooks School, graduating in 1987.
