Ryan Chaytors

Ryan Chaytors

At Dartmouth: Ryan had a productive but injury-shortened first season with the Big Green. His switch to center of the Bill Kelleher-David Whitworth line coincided with Dartmouth's first win of the season and a three- game win streak. Ryan missed the following three weeks with a broken hand that was suffered during practice in a collision along the boards. He returned to play in three additional games at the end of the season. Ryan notched his first career goal in the loss to defending national champion Boston University on December 12.

High School: Ryan played two seasons of junior hockey with the Calgary Canucks before enrolling at Dartmouth. In both seasons he was named to the AJHL All-Star team and in 1994-95 he captained the Canucks to the Centenial Cup Championship.

Personal: Ryan's favorite athlete and boyhood idol is the Detroit Red Wings' Steve Yzerman because of Yzerman's similar size. Ryan also likes that Yzerman is a role model on and off the ice. Ryan thinks that Vermont's Gutterson Arena is the toughest rink to play in in the ECAC because "the rink is so big and the fans are sometimes overwhelming."
